2024년 09월 16일TechValley is proud to have co-hosted the IT Competency Evaluation Test 2024 with Ton Duc Thang University's IT Faculty and CodePresso. This assessment test was designed to help students gauge their IT proficiency, with a focus on two key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Backend development. Tailored to meet the demands of the industry, the test was built around evaluation criteria that mirror those used by companies in real-world hiring processes.
Nearly 200 students from diverse majors, such as Computer Science and Software Engineering, participated in this event. They had the invaluable opportunity to work on simulated projects modeled after international companies' real-world demands. By engaging in this process, students not only gained critical knowledge but also learned how to meet the expectations of employers when applying for developer positions.
The AI evaluation service required students to demonstrate diverse skills essential for real-world AI projects, including design and optimization, offering a hands-on test of their practical abilities. The assessment covered the entire AI project lifecycle, from data preprocessing to model design, training, and optimization. A critical aspect of this challenge was the design and optimization of model architecture suited to the provided data, a vital skill in real-world AI projects.
Meanwhile, CodePresso provided a practical Spring Boot environment, mirroring industry scenarios. The Spring Boot evaluation tested various technologies used in real-world applications, ranging from API deployment using Spring to caching, implementing asynchronous logic, and Spring Security. Participants had to demonstrate core competencies in Spring Boot, from basic CRUD API deployment to exception handling and delivering the correct response based on specific cases. To complete this task, students had to refer to the API documentation and implement a stable API.

Nguyen Phuc Toan, a 2nd-year majoring in Computer Science student at TDTU, said: "My first impression of the test is that it's very engaging and comprehensive. The test covers two topics, for example, Natural Language Processing and Image Processing, in Backend and AI. It’s suitable for student practice."
Nguyen Thi Thien Nhan, a 3rd-year student majoring in Computer Networks and Data Communications, shared: "By taking practical tests rather than theoretical lectures, I gained a lot of insightful information and skills. This helps me better understand the requirements of foreign IT companies."
Tran Quang Trung, a 3rd-year Computer Science student, commented: "Since the IT faculty’s collaboration with international companies, we have had the opportunity to challenge ourselves. The test helps us prepare better, which will be a great advantage when applying to IT companies in the future."
The faculty expressed gratitude to all the companies involved in co-organizing this event, acknowledging the exciting learning opportunities provided to their students. TechValley is equally delighted to have worked alongside TDTU’s IT Faculty and is enthusiastic about future collaborations. We are committed to supporting initiatives that prepare students for the challenges of the global tech industry and look forward to continued cooperation.
This event also marked a significant step in our ongoing effort to assess the feasibility of connecting exceptional IT talent from Southeast Asia with companies both locally and internationally. We believe this initiative will contribute to strengthening the region's position as a hub for tech talent.
Professor Doan Xuan Thanh from TDTU’s Information Technology Department added: "Thanks to the IT Competency Assessment Test, students not only have opportunities to practice IT skills but also experience working with companies from Vietnam and South Korea. On behalf of the IT Faculty of Ton Duc Thang University and all the students, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our partners for creating a valuable experience that strengthens students' knowledge and familiarizes them with professional assessment platforms."
At TechValley, we’re thrilled to be a part of such meaningful events and look forward to fostering long-term partnerships with TDTU to continue providing students with valuable industry insights and opportunities. We believe this event not only helped TDTU students enhance their practical skills and knowledge but also opened up many opportunities for future collaboration between the university and businesses. TechValley is committed to continuing its partnership with TDTU to bring impactful programs that equip students with the confidence to enter the global job market. We look forward to further strengthening this relationship and supporting students as they grow and excel in the field of information technology.
