In a data center, tens of thousands of servers are mounted in racks, and the racks are located in multiple server rooms.

Data Center Internals
Data centers can be classified according to size and purpose of use. Recently, the concept of AI Data Center and Green Data CenTypes of Data Centerster have also appeared, but here we will simply classify them according to the purpose and size of use.
- State-Driven Data Center (NDC)
Data centers are divided into National Data Centers (NDCs) where the government handles information on its citizens and industrial facilities, national information, and confidentiality, and general data centers where companies want to generate profits.
In Vietnam, the NDC National Data Center construction project will be established in February 2025 to manage and operate data integration, synchronization, storage, sharing, analysis, utilization, and coordination of national agencies.
Security and stability are prioritized, and NDC can be said to be an independent Sovereign Data Center of a country.
The types of data collected and stored in NDCs include population data, insurance, health and social security, and education and training. ID information and activity records of public officials, public officials, and public officials are also kept.

- Enterprise-Driven Data Center
In the United States, EQUINIX and Digital Realty are global data center design, consulting, and operating companies. These companies work with telco carriers and ISPs in each country to design and build data centers for countries and regions.
Enterprise-led data centers engage in business such as data center leasing (colocation) and the lease of leased lines to B2B customers.

These data centers try to attract not only general companies but also large cloud providers such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft to their data centers.
Of course, these big tech companies are also moving to build their own data centers overseas. Microsoft has completed the construction of its own data center in South Korea, and AWS plans to build a data center with a capacity of about 96 MW in Incheon by 2025.
NVIDIA builds its own AI data center
Nvidia, which has dominated the AI chip market with GPUs, is also preparing to build its own data center, and if Nvidia rents data center infrastructure from Microsoft and Google and builds DGX Cloud services in its own data center, it is expected that a significant number of Nvidia GPUs (H.100) will be deployed in Nvidia AI data centers.

The data centers of these big techs are mainly located in the United States, and overseas countries mainly use the data centers of each country's telecommunications service providers and ISPs (Internet Service Providers).

In Vietnam, Becamex IDC in Binh Duong province in southern Vietnam provides data center services for manufacturing and smart factory operations in Binh Duong province, and in February 2025, a data center focused on manufacturing was built by a Korean company in Hung Yen area north of Hanoi.

Global Data Center Trends
In the past, data centers were planned as low-density racks of about 3 kilowatts, but in recent years, high-density and high-density servers have been continuously developed, and high-density data centers are being planned to use more than 8 kilowatts or 20 kilowatts to increase efficiency.

Classification by data center size
Depending on the size of the data center, it is also classified according to the size from small data centers to mega data centers.
In addition to the high density and density mentioned earlier, data centers are becoming more and more large, and Hyper Scale Data Centers with their own substations are also being built recently.
